The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s Board of Health determines the long-range planning and sets goals for the future direction of the health department. The board ensures that policies and goals are carried out by LFCHD staff. The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is overseen by the Commissioner of Health, who reports to the Board of Health.

Board of Health Monthly Meetings

  • The Board of Health meets on the second Monday of each month at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, 650 Newtown Pike. Meetings begin at 5:45 p.m. on the third floor and are open to the public; view our event calendar to find a meeting date.
  • The Board of Health Finance Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, 650 Newtown Pike. Meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor and are open to the public.  Click here for a legal notice about this meeting time change.
